GUMMI
BRONKS
The year is 3400. The sun no longer rises. The grass has vanished. The earth is at rest and will reawaken in an unknown number of lightyears. In this twilight zone, the gummy is the only living being on earth. The gummies live peace-meal.They roar with laughter, work hard, have fun, crawl close together, looking for warmth, fall asleep and every so often stomp around recklessly. At times they look grim, but after consuming a tasty bite, they give up the fight. They whine and cry in the depths, talk in soft murmurs and crowsabout what once was and what is yet to come.In GUMMI, Ballet Dommage and Suze Milius choose to embody a bewildering utopian world. A universe where conflict is not part of the plot and where nothing is at stake. No catharsis, no total destruction. The viewer sees the small scenes and daily rituals of peaceful beings in a no man’s land where everything is precisely as it seems.
