Reunion Quartet - Quartet Pianoless
The Music Village
In the early 1950s, Gerry Mulligan and Chet Baker formed a group that is considered one of the most important, innovative and original formations in the history of jazz. Baritone saxophonist Alain Cupper and trumpet player Michel Paré, backed by Brazilian bassist Everton Firmenza and the drummer Jan De Haas, revisit and update the repertoire, compositions, spirit and arrangements of Mulligan's legendary Pianotes Quartet, the spearhead of the Jazz Cool era. Reunion Quartet plays a music where Swing is omnipresent and where the combined song of the trumpet and baritone saxophone blend perfectly in subtle and improvised contrepoints.
