THE VORTEX publication launch w/, Girls Like Us

After eight years of operating as a community project for trans and lesbian people in Brussels and around, Mothers & Daughters – A Lesbian and Trans Bar is wrapping up. In preparing for this chapter to close, and thinking of the futures that will open, Mothers & Daughters has created a collective publication in collaboration with Girls Like Us. This publication brings together new writing, conversations and visual works from different contributors. It’s our hope that the publication serves as a celebration of Mothers & Daughters, an honouring of those who came before and those who joined us, a vessel for some of our thoughts, an outline of our wild vortex and a gathering place for resources for future trans and lesbian organising in Brussels and beyond. It features personal stories, essays and visuals that explore feminist legacies and create collaborative paths toward a non-patriarchal future. The magazine is based in Brussels and uses personal narratives and provocative imagery to highlight feminist achievements and legacies in arts and writing.
