SI TU CONTINUES COMME ÇA ...
Rue Royale Sainte-Marie, 1030 Schaerbeek
“A subtle and irresistible show that’s half theatre, half stand-up.” Le Soir “Driven by the need to know who he is and who he wants to be, Rémi Faure-El Bekkari has chosen to live, to bare all, including his chest, his tattoos and his sparkling shorts. In irresistible sincerity.” La Libre Belgique “If I carry on trying to fit into boxes and wanting to be part of the “group”, I’m going to die... so rather than die, I thought writing a one-man show would be a less dramatic option.” Oscillating between different cultures, different social classes, different sexualities, I’m a living contradiction, a sort of Desigual sweater...a little too busy! In today’s world there’s little room for uncertainty, in-betweenness or nuance. Defining your identity has become a big thing. A matter of life, death and struggle. Between the neo-fascist threat and the hypocrisy of the “left-wing bourgeoisie”, can we extricate ourselves from the pigeonholes to which we are assigned? This show – which combines stand-up, theatre and poetry – looks into the multiplicity and fluidity of identity. An experimental comedy that is at once bizarre, funny and tragic. Five solidarity tickets at €5 will be set aside for each performance of performing arts projects (with some exceptions).
