On 2 July 2027, Brussels will come alive to the rhythm of international dance with the second edition of Les Estivales de la Danse, a prestigious gala that is already establishing itself as one of the major cultural highlights of the summer. Hosted in the majestic setting of the Palace of Fine Arts (Bozar), the event promises an evening filled with emotion, virtuosity and artistic discovery. Created as the summer counterpart to Les Hivernales de la Danse—the festival founded in Liège in 2012 and renowned for the excellence of its international programming—Les Estivales de la Danse is driven by a clear ambition: to bring together, for one exceptional evening, around fifteen dancers from some of the world’s leading companies and celebrate dance in all its diversity. Classical, neoclassical and contemporary styles come together, interact and enrich one another, offering audiences a vibrant overview of today’s choreographic creation. At the heart of this project is Marie Doutrepont, a former professional dancer who performed with several major European companies. Building on the success of Les Hivernales de la Danse—which has already attracted more than 25,000 spectators—she sought to offer Brussels audiences an experience of the same artistic excellence, reimagined for the summer: open, festive and unifying. The first edition of Les Estivales de la Danse, held in 2025, was an immediate success. A sold-out venue, an enthusiastic public response and institutional recognition—highlighted by the presence of Her Majesty Queen Mathilde in the Royal Box—confirmed the relevance of this new cultural event. A gala capable of captivating both devoted dance enthusiasts and curious newcomers eager to experience an outstanding artistic evening. For the 2027 edition, the Gala of Stars will present more than two hours of performances, featuring solos, duets and carefully selected choreographic works distinguished by their artistic intensity and technical excellence. Deliberately free from any thematic constraints, the programme showcases the richness of choreographic expression and the individuality of each performer. Every artist brings their own sensitivity, energy and vision of movement, creating a mosaic of emotions driven by excellence. Beyond the stage, Les Estivales de la Danse also offers a premium spectator experience through VIP packages designed in collaboration with JML, caterer to the Royal Court.
