Pongo

One of the most distinctive voices in today’s afro-fusion scene Pongo is an Angolan singer, songwriter and performer, recognised as one of the most distinctive voices of the new generation of global contemporary music. Born in Luanda and based in Lisbon since the age of eight, her work reflects a strong connection to identity, culture and resilience. She gained international recognition at 16 with “Kalemba (Wegue Wegue)”. Today, she is a leading Afro-fusion artist, known for high-energy shows across Europe and her standout COLORSxSTUDIOS performance. Winner of the Music Moves Europe Talent Award (2020) and nominated for the 2024 Kora Awards, she blends kuduro, Afrobeats and electronic music into a distinctive contemporary sound. With Sakidila, Pongo Baddie, and “Kuzola” (featured on FIFA 23), she continues to expand globally. In 2026, she returns with “Banana”, merging Afrobeats with a warm, grooving vibe and Patois-infused flow.
