Starting on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June, and then every first weekend of the month – August included – Home Frit’ Home opens the doors of its Micro Frites Museum for an exhibition that may not be very catholic, but is spectacularly Belgian: "Fries and Religion". Starting on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June, and then every first weekend of the month – August included – Home Frit’ Home opens the doors of its Micro Frites Museum for an exhibition that may not be very catholic, but is spectacularly Belgian: "Fries and Religion". The show “Fries and Religion” brings together photos and vintage postcards where the chip stall literally leans against the church wall, as if the sacred and the smell of frying had decided to share the same parish. You will also encounter contemporary works that take this marriage at face value: “The First Temptation of Christ” (soft pastels; event image) by Dominique David, “The Adorers or the Bonfire” (collage) by François Liénard, and “Friture de la Chapelle” (scale model) by Yorick Efira, to name but a few. Balancing subtle humour, gentle irreverence and genuine affection for our popular rituals, “Fries and Religion” unfolds a truth we almost stopped noticing: here, meeting at the fritkot is very close to going on a small pilgrimage. Saturday 6 June (1:30 pm–6:30 pm) and Sunday 7 June (1:30 pm–6:00 pm). Saturday 4 July (1:30 pm–6:30 pm) and Sunday 5 July (1:30 pm–6:00 pm). Saturday 1 August (1:30 pm–6:30 pm) and Sunday 2 August (1:30 pm–6:00 pm). Rue des Alliés 242, 1190 Brussels – Forest. Why have Belgian fritkots grown so fond of the church tower’s shadow? The answer is coming soon at Home Frit’ Home’s Micro Museum of Fries! Facebook event : https://www.facebook.com/events/1277287334583274
