The Summer Space Festival returns for its 5th edition, at the iconic Gare Maritime (Tour & Taxis)! A free weekend featuring talks by space experts, an inflatable planetarium, interactive exhibitions, hands-on workshops, LEGO rockets, astrophotography and encounters with astronauts, for curious minds of all ages. Across two action-packed days, visitors of all ages are invited to explore a rich programme blending science, technology, art and wonder. Browse interactive exhibition booths from leading space companies and institutions: ispace brings lunar exploration up close (possibly including their lunar rover), Aerospacelab and AMOS showcase cutting-edge satellite technology, Constellr demonstrates Earth observation from space, and the European Commission's DG DEFIS presents EU space programmes. The French Aerospace Association (3AF) and Brussels-based astronomy club Latitude5050 are also part of the exhibitor line-up. Step inside an inflatable planetarium brought by the Forum des Sciences for a journey through the stars. Marvel at an extraordinary LEGO rocket collection assembled by enthusiast Nicolas Riveau. Admire the intricate paper rocket models handcrafted by artist Pierre Plé, illuminated to stunning effect. Wander through a curated astrophotography exhibition showcasing breathtaking images of the cosmos captured by the SSF community. The stage programme features talks and panels with space industry leaders, scientists and potentially astronauts, offering a rare chance to hear first-hand accounts of life and work in orbit. Space expert and veteran parabolic flight researcher Vladimir Pletser is among the confirmed speakers. Additional guests from the industry, universities, and public institutions are also joining. Our aim is to inspire, to share our passion, and to show how the Space exploration is linked to our daily life. Whether you are a child dreaming of the stars, a student considering a career in aerospace, or simply fascinated by the universe, the Summer Space Festival has something for you. Admission is free. The festival runs 10:00–18:30 on Saturday 20 June and 10:00-17:00 on Sunday 21 June. The Gare Maritime at Tour & Taxis is easily accessible by public transport (bus 88, tram nearby).
