With the podwalk “In the footsteps of the Burgundians, with Bart Van Loo through Brussels” storyteller Bart Van Loo takes you on a historical walk through the heart of the capital. Starting at Place des Palais, discover emblematic locations where the legacy of the Burgundian era can still be felt today. Throughout the walk, Bart Van Loo immerses you in a captivating story of political power, court intrigues and banquets, religion, art, and daily life in Burgundian Brussels. In the footsteps of Philip the Good, Charles the Bold, and Emperor Charles V, a story unfolds of ambition, splendour, and intrigue. A podwalk means listening while you walk. Thanks to GPS localisation, the audio segments are triggered automatically at the right moment during your route. Continue your journey through time at the KBR museum, located within the Royal Library of Belgium, home to the magnificent collection of illuminated manuscripts from the Dukes of Burgundy. As guest curator, Bart Van Loo has selected some of the most evocative manuscripts from KBR’s rich collections, bringing you even closer to the Burgundian court of the 15th and 16th centuries. Miniatures of extraordinary beauty bring the stories heard in the city to life, embodying history in parchment and pigment.
