The Hotel Riez is an Art Deco gem in the Maritime Quarter of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean
boulevard du Jubilé 86, 1080 Molenbeek-Saint-Jean
In the heart of the maritime district, the Hotel Riez, built in 1927-1928, has been particularly well preserved by the de Molinari family, acting on behalf of CDA, which has owned the property for over fifty years. Designed by architect Jean-Baptiste Dewin for Joachim Riez, an industrialist specialising in the sale of building materials, it provided office space for the Compagnie industrielle du Rupel as well as a prestigious apartment on the first floor. Inside, visitors will discover the amazing decor designed in the wake of the Exposition des Arts décoratifs et industriels modernes de Paris (1925) : A wonderful stained glass window, furnitures signed by the Kortrijk designers De Coene Frères and a kitchen worthy of a film set! The building is accessible only with a guide and by reservation.
